A book that I want to read

Vellore Revolt 1806 says, revolts in Vellore preceded the much hyped 1857 Meerut revolts.

In a way, it will be an interesting read. It will highlight what history books of the schools don’t: that there was some credible, original freedom struggle in the peninsular India.

However, lately, I wonder, why on earth are Indians; politicians, academics, historians and the like, are obsessed in pointing their finger to one isolated event and call that the first freedom struggle? Why? Because they want to give out a number saying Indian freedom struggle lasted for over two centuries?

You can never understand what really motivates people.
